The Three projects of awesome!

While at 6degrees I had the chance to work on this three-part doozy of a contest from start to finish. It’s a great example of how to push people from in-store, online, by means of a unique pin code adhered onto each product sold.

Print

Digital

Fly Free

Lots of fun things about this project, all while working with some great clients and colleagues. Let’s see… fancy dielines and knock outs, fun illustrations by a talented co-worker, and full size mock ups of the displays. Multiple displays, same creative. A lot of rejigging. Lights were added to the plane so it flashed in-store. A lovely vibrant Pantone was used on the stickers which really made them pop at shelf. That’s client speak. I also helped with the digital side, making translation changes to graphics and copy while plunking in the French.

Drive Free

This project was equally as fun as fly free. Same floor display guts, brand new graphics and dielines, but now we have a car. A car with lights. Flashing tail lights, and a little custom license plate. Everybody’s a sucker for a tiny vanity plate. Rolled out minor changes here and there on the site, and of course the French translations. A few social posts and pretty much helped out whenever needed.

Shop Free

Shop Free was by far the best of the displays. We actually got to pick a metallic substrate for the floor displays on this puppy and ran a big test sheet to gauge our spot whites at different opacities. Some really neat shimmers on texts and some cool generic city illustrations and knockouts that really made the print piece shine when the light hit it. As the print world and Montell Jordan say “this is how we do it”. On the digital side, rolled out the French closing contest and some winner pages. More social posts and lots of stock purchasing and replacing.

All in all, this was a great project to be a part of with a lot of people who are good at their jobs. Sure there were crazy changes and evil fonts with no accents, but that just adds more flavours to the project.
Adding lights to cardboard cut-outs really changes a person. It’s like the time you first put googly eyes on something and the world became a different place with so many more possibilities.
